First Friday
Students Sylvia Sequina, Shawn Pressley, and Hayley McCraw co-created an art piece that was on display during the April First Friday Art Craw (April 7, 2023). This was part of an event organized by OASIS for Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM). The painting was created at an Orchesis open studio and was inspired by healing. Each student began by creating an image that represented a word or phrase they associated with healing on one large piece of paper. Eventually, they began connecting their individual work to create a shared, cohesive work of art, representing the importance of community and connection in healing.
